Class of 2027 Scouting Report

#34 Stone Stogner 6’0 wing Hartfield Academy 2027

Stone is a knockdown shooter who can space the floor. I was also impressed with Stone’s effort; he played hard even though he didn’t get a lot of touches. Even though he was one of the younger players in the combine he didn’t play scared. I believe he could be a nice contributor to the Hartfield Hawks this upcoming season. He just needs to continue to work on his skillset, especially his ballhandling and foot speed. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#40 Kristian Pounds 5’11 Combo Oak Grove 2027

Pounds is a combo guard who has played in my past Talkin Hoops in DA SIP Showcase. Even though he didn’t get a whole of touches that he is used too, when playing in his own age group, he showed that he is going to be a good player for many years to come. He can get downhill and finish at the rim and he can knock down the open trey ball. I would like to see finish on the left side of the basket like he does the right side of the basket. Needs to work on his communication skills.

 #39 Carson Brown 5’11 Combo Murrah 2027

Brown is a strong combo guard who is built like a running back. I believe he will play some positive minutes this year for Murrah’s varsity team this year. He has a nice midrange game, and he is not afraid to score the basketball. He also didn’t look scared at all while playing up in the combine. He also needs to work on his speed and quickness as well as his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#6 Kayden Lee Combo NW Rankin 5’10 2027

Lee is combo guard who showed the ability to run a team especially with his passing ability. He showed in limited touches that he knows how to play and has a decent feel for the game. He definitely didn’t play scared, and he showed that he belonged out there when he got his opportunity. He just needs to continue to work on his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#37 Letrell Smith Combo Jefferson Davis County 2027

Smith is a Combo guard who played hard. In the 5 on 5 games probably didn’t get as many touches as he would have liked. When he was out there, he didn’t play scared. He got a chance to showcase his skillset a lil more in the 2 on 2 games that he played. He showed that he could handle the ball and get downhill and finish at the rim. I definitely would like to see more of him in the future. He needs to continue to work on his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#28 Brendan Mayweather 5’8 Combo Murrah 2027

Mayweather didn’t get a lot of offensive opportunities, but he gave great effort on the defensive end. He is a kid who just needs to continue to work on his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills.

Class of 2026 Scouting Report

# 12 Devin Moore     6’5    Wing   Germantown   2026

Moore is a long athletic wing who has the look of a next level player. He can score at all 3 levels. He can get downhill and finish above the rim when he wants to. He has High Major talent the question is How bad does he want it? Germantown has another star in Moore.  Needs to work on his communication skills.

#32 DJ Washington     6’5     Wing    Jackson Academy    2026

Long athletic strong wing who plays hard and can knock down the open trey ball. He played like he has a scoring mentality as he was very aggressive when he had the ball. He must continue to work on his overall skillet. He is no question in my mind low- mid major D1 prospect.  Needs to work on his communication skills.

#35 Marcus Goodloe     5’10    PG     Jackson Academy    2026

Goodloe is what I call a solid pg who can run your team. Good handles, good passer, seems very coachable. He is a willingly defender. He just seemed like a guy you would like to have on your team. He needs to continue work on skill development. He definitely needs to work on his communication skills if he wants to become an elite pg. He will definitely play at the next level.

 #50 Kamarion Meriwether   6’4   Wing     Terry   2026

Meriwether is a good-sized strong wing who was very solid and who rebounded the ball well. He plays like a kid who is used to playing whatever role the coach wants him to play. He seems very coachable. He didn’t shoot the much from the perimeter, but when he did his shot didn’t look horrible. I would him to be more aggressive offensively on a consistent basis. He needs to continue to work on his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#5 Tyler Lyles    6’3    Wing    Jackson Academy   2026

Lyles is an athletic linebacker who plays basketball, and he can play. I told him the way he moves on the basketball floor shows me that one day he could be playing on Sundays. Every HS Coach in America would love to have Lyles on his team he is tough as nails, and he has a decent skillset. If he keeps working on his overall skillset, he could be a basketball player at the next level. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#32 Khameron Snow     5’10   Combo   Ridgeland 2026

Snow is a pg who just knows how to play. He keeps his head up when he dribbles and is good passer. He can run my team. I didn’t see him really shoot the ball that much as he was focused on facilitating the offense and going by people. He needs to work on his overall skillset especially his shooting. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#27 Jorden McCain     6’0   Combo   Terry    2026

McCain is a combo guard who has a decent shot. He has a decent body, and it will be interesting to see how much tick he gets with Terry on this year. I would have liked to see him be more aggressive, but I understand sometimes that can be tough especially in a camp type setting.  He needs to continue to work on his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#49   Zxavier Webber 5’9 PG  Heritage Academy      2026

Webber is the kid every coach wants on their team. He is a floor general who can get downhill and finish at the rim. He knocks down open shots. He has some toughness about himself, and he is a guy who makes winning plays on both offensively and defensively. If    I’m a low major D1 program I’m keeping my eyes on this kid.  He just needs to work on his communication skills.

 #30   Lazabian Banks 5’8 PG Lanier  2026

Banks is another kid who has some “Ooh Wee” some “Yah Yah” in his game. He has a chance to do some special things for Lanier this year. He is easily one of the guards in his class. He is hard to guard 1 on 1, it’s not too many people who can stay in front of him. He is fast, quick, and got some ups and can knock down the trey ball. He is also a willingly defender. If I’m a low major D1 program I’m keeping my eyes on this kid. Needs to work on his communication skills.

#29 Connor Different   6’0 Combo   Mize  2026

Combo guard who can shoot it from a “Different” time zone on the court. I believe he will have a good season this year. He is not lacking any confidence at all. I believe he just needs to continue to work on his overall skillset as well working on his defense. Needs to work on his communication skills.

 #7 Braxton Ward   6’1 Combo  Callaway  2026

Ward is long athletic combo who can go-go. This was my first time really watching him play. I absolutely love him. He got some wiggle to his game; he can get his shot off on anyone. He needs to continue to work on his overall skillset especially his trey ball. If I’m a low major D1 program I’m keeping my eyes on this kid.  Needs to work on his communication skills.

Class of 2024/25 Scouting Report

#23   Triston Jenkins   5’9   Combo   Pearl   2024

A solid combo who played hard and gave good effort. Decent ballhandler with a decent shot. Jenkins could have been a lil more assertive and aggressive, but I know it can be tough sometime in a combine situation where everyone is trying to get theirs. Jenkins should be good contributor to his HS team this year. He needs to continue to work on his speed and quickness as well as his overall skillset.  Needs to work on his communication skills.

 #46   Severe McNeary 6’0   Combo   Hillcrest   2024

Severe is combo guard who can flat out shoot it. He should average around 12-18 pts a game for Hillcrest. He has some toughness about himself, as he hurt his ankle and fought through and continued to play hard. He really is more comfortable at the off-guard position, but he can play the PG if u need him to. He is a guy for me who must be on the floor because of his ability to knock down the open shot. No question a top ten shooter in DA SIP. Needs to develop a killer attitude and his defense needs to match his shooting ability. Needs to work on his communication skills. He will be a nice shooter for someone at the next level.

#31   Dyllen Buckner    6’4   Wing     Raymond      2024

Long strong athletic wing who has decent perimeter skills who can knock the open shot. Can hit the wide open 3. Buckner has a trait that I like he is not afraid to shoot the ball especially when he is open and even if he is off he believes that he is on and tbh I like that. He should be a piece of that Raymond dynasty who has been to the last 7 or 8 finals. Buckner needs to continue to refine his overall skillset. Needs to work on his communication skills. He can be a nice big wing at the next level.

#36 Shaun Murray     6’3   Wing   Harrison Central    2025

Murray is a long athletic wing who was arguably the best and most impressive player at the combine. Murray showed that he can score on all 3 levels. He can put it on the floor, he finish above the rim and he has a nice pullup. For me he is an easy top ten player in his class in DA SIP. To me Murray plays defense in spurts. If he decides to take as much pride in his defense as he does in his offense, he could be the best 2-way defender in DA SIP. Needs to work on his communication skills. No brainer low -mid major D1 prospect.

#13 Tayshun McCray     5’11    Combo   Laurel    2025

Tayshun aka Mr Ooh Wee” I call him the that because he had some serious hesi, and wiggle action going on. This was my first time really watching him play and he was very impressive to me. His handles were legit, as he got downhill, and he finished at the rim. He has a good midrange game.  I didn’t see him really shoot the trey ball, but I liked everything else that I saw. He is also a legit defender. He needs to be on all colleges radar. I love him!! Needs to work on his communication skills.

Saturday 9/16/23

Class of 2024/25 Scouting Report

#37   Kaliauna Jones   5’10   Wing/Forward  Center Lake   2024

This was my first time seeing Ms. Jones play and boy was I impressed. A big wing who competes and plays hard.  She wasn’t the greatest in the drill portion of the combine, but she is definitely a gamer. She doesn’t back down from anyone. Definitely can play on the wing at the next level.  Every JUCO in the state should be on her. I would play as a face up 4 who could be  matchup problem. Needs to continue to work on her overall skillset. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#40    Kierra James  5’9  Wing   Vicksburg   2024

James is 5’9 wing who can knock down the open 3 ball as well as post up smaller defenders! I absolutely Love her! Needs to continue to get in elite shape as well work on her overall skillset. Another one that all JUCOS should be on. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#30   Maia Turner  5’6  Combo St. Joe Catholic  2024

Maia is a young lady that I overlooked on last year in my rankings It was clearly an oversight because this young lady can play. Turner has a good feel for the game and is really skilled especially as a shooter. She is an easy top ten shooter in DA SIP. She needs to work on her speed and quickness to thrive at the next level. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#33 Dariyah Myers  6’0   Forward Forest  2024

Myers is a long wiry strong athletic forward who plays aggressively especially on the defensive end. She will be a face up 4 at the next level with the possibility depending where she goes could develop into a 3. She needs to continue to work on her overall skillset. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#2 Sydney Coward  5’7  Combo  Union  2024

This was my first time ever seeing Coward play and I was impressed with what I saw. Coward who has a good feel for the game, will be called upon to shoot the ball for Union and rightfully so because she knocks down jumpers. She really has a very good midrange game. She needs to continue to work on her ball-handling, speed and quickness to excel at the next level. Needs to work on her communication skills.  Coward can definitely play at the next level.

#9   Kylee Madden  5’8  Combo  Union  2024

Kylee who is a coach’s kid, definitely has good feel for the game, I believe she will be called upon to run the PG for Union. She can knockdown open shots as well and at times get downhill and finish at the rim. The one thing you don’t have to worry about is her work ethic because she operates like she has been in the gym a lot. She needs to continue to work on her speed and quickness to excel at the next level. Needs to work on her communication skills. Madden can definitely play at the next level.

#30   Arianna Crimm  6’1  Wing   Pass Christian   2024

Every time I see Arianna Crimm she only has gotten better each time that I have seen her play. No brainer JUCO kid because she just plays to hard. Crimm is long wing whom can knock down the open 3 at pretty nice clip. Crimm also won the distinction of the best communicator at the combine.

#35 Faith Yeates   5’10 Wing/Forward  Starkville  2024

Yeates is presently a big who is physical and gets most of her stuff done inside. She plays extremely hard and I believe wants to get better. If she was 6’1 no brainer D1 prospect. She needs to continue to work on her overall skillset in order to be effective at the next level. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#46 Jatoi Johnson  5’8   Wing  Clinton   2025

JJ is a bully wing who will be counted on real heavy at Clinton this year. She needs to become that player we all know that she is. She can knock down open jumpers, she plays very physical. She needs to be more consistent as a player. She needs to continue to work on her overall skillset. Needs to work on her communication skills.

Class of 2026 Scouting Report

#5 Tessa Jenkins     5’5     PG   Pearl    2026

Tessa is a quick lefty PG  who can handle the ball and has a good feel for the game. She is a good passer and she is a competitor. She can get downhill and finish at the rim. She can knock down the midrange jumper. She needs to continue to improve her 3 ball shot and her overall skillset. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#43 Shamira Morton     6’2   Forward   Canton   2026

Morton is a long athletic big who can run the floor and protects the rim at a high level. She seems to step up her game when she is challenged especially in the paint area. She can knock down the open 15 footer. She can rebound the basketball and can finish around the rim. Morton’ best basketball is ahead of her. Every time I see she has gotten better. She needs to continue to work on her overall skillset. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#4 Aubrey Chambers   5’8   Combo   Jackson Academy   2026

Chambers is Long athletic combo who has a pretty good skillset. She do a lil bit of everything. Chambers needs to just keep playing a lot of basketball games and study film so she can continue to improve her “why she does what she does” What does that mean u ask? Chambers does a lot of things instinctively without really knowing why she did what she did. Very talented player.  Needs to work on her communication skills.

#33 Aria Jones     5’7    Combo   Clinton    2026

Jones is a lefty athletic combo who plays with an incredible motor, and can get downhill and finish at the rim. She could be a critical piece for Clinton HS success this year. She can be a high level defender because of her speed and quickness. The one thing that she has that you can’t teach is how hard she plays. She really just needs to work on her overall skillset, especially going right. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#27 Fallon Wilcox  5’7  Wing  Florence  2026

Wilcox is a long somewhat athletic wing who needs to keep playing a lot games as well as work on a lot of skill development. She plays hard she just to learn how to play. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#24 Gabby Gray    5’8    Wing    St. Joe   2026

Gray is what I call a Bully Guard. She is a good athlete who can get downhill and finish at the rim. Her handles are solid. Overall she does a lot of good things on the court. She is kind of the ultimate utility player that every coach loves to have on their team. She needs to continue to develop her overall skillset especially her 3 ball. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#50 Gracelyn Carmichael    5’10   Combo   Jackson Academy 2026

Carmichael is a big guard whose best basketball is ahead of her. This year should be her coming out party as far as HS goes. She is really good at running the pick and roll and getting downhill and finishing at the rim. She is a decent shooter that is definitely the are which needs some improvement. She just needs to continue to fine tune her overall skillset and she will be just fine.  Needs to work on her communication skills.

#18 Abby Myles     5’4   Combo   St Joe  2026

Myles is a  small combo guard who needs to develop into a solid point guard.  Myles worked hard and if she continues to work she will develop even more. She needs to continue to work on her overall skill development. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#17 Mya Norwood 5’6   Combo   Florence    2026

Norwood is combo guard who likes to defend and can shoot it when she is open. She doesn’t back down from anyone.  She will be a valuable asset to her HS team this year. Norwood just needs to improve her overall skill set. Needs to work on her communication skills.

Class of 2027/MS Scouting Report

#8 Mariah McClaurin 5’4 PG Northwest Rankin 2027

This was my first time seeing McClaurin and I’m so glad she came, because it’s hard for me to evaluate you if I don’t see you. I absolutely love McClaurin, she is my type of PG scrappy, feisty, plays hard, and she didn’t play scared. She was able to get downhill and get to the basket and finish at the rim. She has a decent feel for the game. She should be able to help NW Rankin this year as a freshman. She needs to continue to work on her overall skillset.  Needs to work on her communication skills.

#3 Anne Rylea Thurman  5’8 Combo Brookhaven Academy 2027

ART is another one that every time I see her play, she gets better. I knew she could shoot the basketball, but she got some wiggle in her game. She is a D1 talent who has played a lot of basketball and it shows. She has a good feel for the game.  Needs to work on her communication skills.

#38 Saniyah Murray 6’4 Forward Harrison Central  2027

Murray has a chance to be SPECIAL! Right now, she doesn’t have a ceiling. She checks off every box for a big. Runs the floor CHECK, long and athletic CHECK, can finish around the rim with either hand CHECK, good footwork CHECK, protects the rim CHECK, rebounds CHECK, has good ball skills for her size CHECK, can knock down her Free Throws, CHECK. When it’s all said and done, she has a chance to be one of the best bigs to ever come of DA SIP. She just needs to continue to keep refining her skillset and work on being always mentally tough. Needs to work on her communication skills. HI MAJOR and WNBA prospect.

#36 Aaliyah Mims 5’2  Combo Vicksburg Jr High 2029

Mims is a combo guard who plays hard who has a lil speed and quickness, she was playing in all the games with the HS girls. I would love to see her play with her own age group. She didn’t play scared. I applaud her effort. She just needs to continue to work on her overall skillset.  Needs to work on her communication skills.

#28 Avery Warf    5’5   Combo   Jackson Prep   2029

Avery is going to be alright. She also played up and she more than held her on. When I split the 3 middle school kids up for a 2 on 2 half court game you could see she had even more confidence as she got to the basket and was aggressive on the offensive end. Decent handles, decent shot.  Warf just needs to continue to work on her overall skillset. Needs to work on her communication skills.

#20 Myah Webber  5’4 Combo Heritage Academy 2030

Myah impressed me at this combine. She tried to act a lil shy until she got on the floor. You can tell that she has an older brother who can play because she has a natural feel for the game. She also played with all of the HS girls and held her own, but when she played in the 2 on 2 games, she kind of separated herself as she got to the basket at will and she played with a whole lot more confidence, I look forward to watching her progress over the next few years. Needs to work on her communication skills.
